Every
year in june a festival takes place within the idyllic landscape
near the Manhartsberg, where the composer spent his last years.
The festival ist arranged in cooperation with the Municipiality
of Maissau and the Gottfried von Einem Music Foundation to commemorate
the composer. Along with international soloists and prominent chamber
musicians concerts take place in the 700 years old church of Oberdürnbach.
A special event at a special place.

"Rightous among the Nations"
by the State of Israel
Gottfried
von Einem honored by the State of Israel as a "Rightous among the
Nations" on 12/6/2002: the highest honor that the State of Israel
confers on non-jews was given posthumously to Gottfried von Einem
by the Israeli Holocaust Memorial Organization Yad Vashem.
